Join us for an All-Day Play Reading Indulgence
The All-Day Selection Sunday Extravaganza puts all 24 Short Play Fest semi-finalists on their feet, as cold-reads, and all who are present will vote on each play. The categories being: Slam-dunk-must-see theater, that-was-great-yes-maybe, or not-today, thanks. We will tally all the votes and at the end of the day, decide on our 8 finalists, including who will be awarded the coveted and esteemed Clopton Prize for the best play of the bunch.

Come join the fun!
We will be selecting all our cold-readers randomly throughout the day, so if you’d like to strut your stuff, get a little actor’s exercise, and vote for your favorite plays, it promises to be a fun and full day of theater. Come for the whole day, or come and go as you please!

A little background
We received 253 plays from 253 Playwrights, hailing from 41 states, 4 Canadian Provinces, and Ireland, as submissions to our 2nd Annual A Festival of Short Plays (aka The TASN Short Play Fest). After four rounds of intensive reading from our panel of twelve judges, every play read at least twice, some read six or seven times…..24 semi-finalists have been chosen.

A Festival of Shorts Plays will run for two weekends, six performances, from October 18-27 at The Actors Studio of Newburyport.

And! ….. we will select 8 runners-up, a second group of eight, which will then be produced as a separate production of staged readings titled Eight Wasn’t Enough, running November 23 & 24.
