Three evenings of new plays written by Newburyport’s finest weekend writers
April 3-5, Friday, Saturday 8pm, Sunday 5pm

The Weekend Writer’s Workshop (WWW) is bringing “Collaboration 6” to The Actors Studio for three performances, April 3-5. 2020. Previous work by these playwrights has been performed at hundreds of play festivals around the country – and “Collaboration 6” is this talented group’s most ambitious show to date. According to Marc Clopton, executive director of the Actors Studio, “You don’t have to go into Boston to get great theater. The “Collaboration 6” plays guarantee three evenings of unique, not-to-be-missed entertainment: funny, clever, stunning, compelling and provocative.

“Audiences will be treated to twelve plays, eight a night, with each night’s line-up different than the previous,” says Jack Rushton, co-founder of WWW. “We’re grouping the twelve plays into three sets of four. If you take in two shows you’ll see all twelve plays. If you attend all three shows, you’ll see the unique line-ups, because no two nights will be the same.”

WWW meets every third Sunday at The Actors Studio, where local writers and actors work in harmony to craft and fine-tune plays. “Every year we choose some of our best to perform as a fundraiser for The Actors Studio,” says Rushton, “a place that’s not only a valuable cultural resource in our community but also a theatrical home-base for many of us.”

All proceeds will benefit The Actors Studio of Newburyport.
