Full Moon Story Slam – 20210417 – Dirt

April 17 @ 7:00 pm

Full Moon Story Slam date: Saturday, April 17 at 7pm
Theme: Dirt

Please note: Audience Members limit is 100, so be sure to sign up early

The next Full Moon Story Slam is our chance to gather as friends – virtually, of course – and share true stories from our lives. Simply put, a story slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling. It puts a dual emphasis on content and performance, encouraging storytellers to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit – and it is great entertainment! Story slammers will tell a 5-minute short story based on the evening’s theme: “Dirt.”

If you know that you would like to tell a story, you can let us know by email at info@newburyportacting.org up until noon on April 17th.  If you are not sure yet, you will have the opportunity to sign up during the event.  The competition will be on Saturday, April 17, at 7:00 P.M.

Don’t be nervous, we will send easy instructions and host a run through beforehand.

Pre-registration to be an audience member is also required.
Once signed up, you will be sent the Zoom link. Simply email info@newburyportacting.org
Criteria for judging will be the same as during a live slam.
• The story has an arc: a beginning, a point of change, and a resolution.
• Presentation of the story.

• Time (no longer than five minutes) and connection to the theme.

Please remember, the story must be true. The story must be yours. And you may not use props, notes or a written script.

Theme this month: Dirt

Just in case you missed it above, the competition will be
