Random Act 14.5 was so successful that we decided to squeeze in another one! We are calling it Random Acts 14.75 falling between our 14.5 and our 15th production (coming later in 2019). Random Acts is a play in a day spun together by the Great and Mysterious Randomizer, otherwise known as Hailey Klein. Here’s how it works: Writers’ names go in a hat. Playwright pairs are selected at random. They spend Friday night writing a new play. Saturday morning Directors’ names are put in the hat. Directors are assigned to the plays by a random draw. Finally actors’ names are placed in the randomizer and they are assigned to each play by random pick. Then the teams go to work rehearsing and preparing for the production at 8 pm that night.

No time for doubt, no time for resistance – it’s a dash to the finish line and everyone wins; the playwrights, directors, actors and most importantly, the audience. The energy generated by the Random Acts process is over the top and everyone feels it.
