Theme: Destiny

2019 is the sixth year of our successful story slam program.  This year The Studio hosted four story slams, at our black box theatre. Our Super Story Slam is the finale in which we invite all of our 2019 Full Moon Story Slam winners to tell us one more tale – this time a longer story focused around the theme – Destiny.

A Story Slam offers a chance to gather friends and share true stories from our lives. Story Slams are also competitions – based on the art of storytelling. It puts a dual emphasis on content and performance, encouraging storytellers to focus on what they’re saying and how they’re saying it. It is an exercise in crafting stories within a set time limit and it is great entertainment!

The three criteria for the judges:
1.) The story has an arc: a beginning, a point of change, and a resolution.
2.) Presentation of the story.
3.) Time limit and connection to the theme.
